Safepass and Construction Safety Session

News: New national action plan launched to safeguard construction workers across Ireland

The Construction Safety Partnership Advisory Committee (CSPAC), an advisory committee to the Board of the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), has today (8 July 2025) published its 2025 – 2027 Action Plan, developed to enhance occupational safety and health standards for those working in the construction sector.

The new three year Action Plan outlines a comprehensive set of goals and initiatives to tackle the most pressing occupational safety and health risks in the sector. It builds upon previous successes that have already led to a 42% reduction in construction fatalities over the time-frame covered by the last CSPAC plan compared to the previous three years, and it recognises the urgent need to address the persistent rate of life-altering injuries.

Be part of the action plan now and ensure your staff have a clear understanding of how to stay safe while working on site. The safepass programme provides a one day comprehensive programme for your employees and ensures that you stay complaint with your legal responsibilities under the legislation. It is a mandatory legal requirement that all persons working at construction sites must be in posession of a valid registration card.

Employers have recently faced prosecution for failing to ensure their employees are trained as per the Safepass programme where accidents have resulted in injury and loss of life.
